Location

Kirkcaldy is the largest town in Fife and the birth place of Adam Smith who, in 1776, founded a pillar of modern economics with the publication of "The Wealth of Nations". At a similar time Hawkly Muir was a district of Dysart and the area was enjoying the start of a boom in the linen industry. It is believed this building was built as a linen factory in the 19th Century.
